An explanation of our part numbering system.

   Most of what you need to know about our cam specs is contained in the part number. The first 2 digits denote the engine family.  10 = AMC, 11= 6 cyl AMC, 12= 150 AMC  L4,     20=small block Chrysler, 21= Big Block Chrysler, 22= 2.2 & 2.5L Chrysler, 30=289-302 Ford, 31= 351C,M, &400 Ford, 32=351W Ford & 302HO, 33= FE Ford family, 34=370,429 & 460 Ford, 35= 1.6L Escort, 36=3.8L V6, 37= 240 & 300 6 cyl. 38= 2.0-2.3L OHC 1974-90, 39=2.6 & 2.8L V6,  H39=2.9LV6,     40= V6 Buick 231 & 252, 41=350 Buick, 42= 400,430,455 Buick, 43= 215, 300, 340 Buick, 44= 365, 400, 425 Buick,       50= Small Block Chevy, FR50= SB Chevy w/factory roller cam, 51= Big Block Chevy, 52-2.8-3.1L 60 degree V6 Chevy, 53=200-229 V6 Chevy, 54=230-250 L6 Chevy, 55=292 L6 Chevy, 57=262 4.3L V6 Chevy,      60=Oldsmobile V8 1968 up and 65-67 39 degree engines,     70= Pontiac V8, 71= GM 151 L4 1980-85, 72-151 1984-92 R, 2, roller, 73=151 1985-90 U, 74= 153 & 181 Chevy and 151 1977-79??      80= Cadillac 1969 up 368,425,472 & 500,  81=63-67 390-429 Cadillac, 82=56-62 365 & 390 Cad.      90= International 266, 304, 345 & 392 V8.

Special applications may be indicated by engine size i.e. 409 - ???? for 348 or 409 Chevy or E318-???? For the early 318 Chrysler.

4 digits follow the engine designation. The numbers 8888 indicate a custom ground cam for billing purposes and will be followed by another number indicating the cam specs.

Example; 50-3444 indicates a Small Block Chevy cam with 234 degrees intake and 244 degrees exhaust duration. More numbers indicating lobe separation and degrees advanced may follow this number. Thus 50-3444-12A5 indicates this cam has 112 degrees lobe separation and is to be advanced 5 degrees. This will be found on all custom cams and some shelf stock. The only needed information not in the part number is the lift. Anyone seeing this number will know this cam is to be degreed in with a 107 intake centerline.

A series designation may precede or follow the part number. TMR prefix is a Torque Monster Roller, while XTL, XTLS, & XCR suffixes indicate a .842 Mechanical profile. XTLF is .874 mechanical, HMT is .842 Hyd, HLL is low lift hydraulic.

Note; Some durations may have several different lift profiles available. The lower lift profiles are usually intended to be used with high ratio rockers or meet certain lift requirements.
