A NEW GENERATION OF CAM PROFILES

     We are proud to introduce you to Camcraft's new XTL series of flat tappet cam profiles. These are our own brand new state of the art computer designs. Camcraft has retained a world renown camshaft design consultant with 40 years experience to develop these profiles, featuring large nose radius, maximum velocity, high opening acceleration, lower closing acceleration, and very low jerk values. Very short seat timing with lots of area under the lift curve gives lots of torque out of the turns with a very flat torque curve.

Although these are tight lash .842" mechanical lifter profiles. they were designed to permit the use of our VDT variable duration hydraulic lifters where required by class rules.

The masters for these profiles were made directly from 8 place design data on a $700,000.00 CNC cam grinder, thus eliminating the errors and design corruption found in most models and masters. Twenty eight profiles in this series are shown. They are primarily aimed at 1/4 to 5/8 mile oval track and bracket racing with rpm ranges up to 72-7500.

Having the most accurate masters does little good without accurate grinders. Camcraft operates 2 late model Berco cam grinders, and has the capability of grinding tight inverse radius roller cams using 5 inch diameter grinding wheels.

Camcraft uses a "Cam Doctor" computerized profile analyzer along with other, more sophisticated software to assure consistent quality as well as analyze other cams Camcraft also has many special profiles most grinders do not offer such as short duration (210 - 240 @.050 ) Profiles for 1" and 1.1" diameter lifters. These are especially popular for antique tractor pullers as well as the Diesel Prostocks & Superstocks as well as certain sports car classes.
