Dear Customers,

Our trip to Elon College for parents’ weekend was great fun. We got to meet Victoria’s friends who all seemed to be very nice. We were further rewarded by a great midterm report when we returned home. Her grandmother came up from Sarasota as well as her sister Betty & Betty’s boyfriend Stan from Ashville, NC. We all had a good time.

New cam designs

From Elon we went to my cam consultant where I spent 2 ½ days increasing my knowledge of cam design. I came back with 6 new designs and have done several more since returning home.

We now have some very exciting hydraulic designs with 50 degrees hydraulic intensity. This is the difference in the .004 and .050 duration figures. Lower numbers are better and these are the lowest in the industry. These ramps will be quiet. We primarily designed these for the 2.9L Ford V-6 to enhance low-end throttle response but they have many other applications. It means we can increase duration and use a tighter lobe separation while still retaining good vacuum in mild street engines

We also have new high rpm ramp designs that will be good to 10,000+ rpm even with 2:1 rockers. These have a mechanical intensity of 32 degrees. That is the difference between the .020 duration and .050 duration. So far we only have 2 profiles done. They are 280 & 284 duration with .420 lobe lift. I will design many more but we will see what demand we have before making masters. At $350.00 each we can spend a ton of money in a hurry. Our Torque Monster series is very stable to 8500 rpm with 1.7 rockers and we don’t have much call for higher rpm in our present market. We also added a 242/.323 profile to our XTLS series
