Dear Customers,

Hurricane Floyd has come and gone from the Eastern Shore and we are none the worse for it. We got about 8 inches of rain and some wind but that was it. There were some areas nearby that got localized flooding and some property loss but nothing like the South. Harriett and I worked in the shop through the whole thing . We were apparently one of very few places open that day. We got a lot done.

We have a new employee on board. His name is Bruce Chandler and he seems to be catching on quickly. We feel certain he will be a valuable asset to our company.

Our racing business usually falls off about now but we are still pretty busy doing cams for the last circle track races of the season and for people that want to try to get a head start with a new combination for next year. We’re getting a pretty good number of orders for drag race cams now as well.

Be sure to check out our web site for our track champions page. It should be up by next week. It will be a permanent page. We were going to put them in the newsletter but we ran out of room the 1st day. There will be other additions as not all tracks have ended their points program.

Winners:

A special congratulation goes to RP Racing Engines in Lenoir, NC. Ronnie Presswood’s engines powered Shane Hoffman’s #84 NASCAR Late Model Stock car to track Championships at Hickory Speedway  as well as the NASCAR Blue Ridge Division Championship. They were # 2 in the National Division, losing by less than .02 of a point.

On the Drag Race front, Super Gas racer Steve Drummond of Drummond Race Cars, Laurel, DE was runner up at the recent NHRA divisional race at Virginia Motorsports Park in Dinwiddie, VA. He  is currently ranked #4 in the NHRA Northeast Division and #23 in the nation. Steve and his wife Kathy (a Heavy Eliminator racer) are well known to most Division 1 racers.

Rick Passwaters has been a winner in the Trophy Class at US 13 Dragway in Delmar, DE. He is the 1999 points Champion and the winner of the Street Eliminator class at the NHRA Division 1 Bracket finals held at US 13 this past week.

Herb Carwell of Midway Machine in Steeles Tavern, VA reported  !st & 2nd place finishes by father and son at Natural Bridge Speedway in the Sportsman class. Son, David Bennet, showed his dad Steve how it was done last weekend.

Hollywood Machine, Richmond, VA reports that Floyd Stevens had a recent win and Bubba Flexon finished 2nd in a recent 72 car Enduro Race at Southside Speedway in Richmond, VA.

Tod Cervalo in the #31 SK Modified has been a consistent front runner and is the points Champion at Thompson Speedway in Thompson, CT. His engines are built by Pettit racing Engines in Sandy Hook, CT. . Other Pettit powered SK Modified winners include Jeff Malave’s #3 car and Tod Scrvedgy’s #66. Both of these cars are consistent top 5 finishers.

A Pettit engine also powered George “ Mad Dog” Bessett to multiple wins at Thompson in the #39 Pro Stock car as well as finishing 2nd in points

We had more winners on this list but a computer operator error(by me)  eliminated them. This is all I could remember in the allotted time.
