Dear
Customers,
It looks like fall is here to stay. We are busier than expected for the
end of September.
Victoria
seems to be enjoying college and missing her boy friend. She has already made
1 trip home to pick up more stuff but we really know why she came home. We
will be going down to Elon College for family weekend the first weekend in
October. We’re looking forward to it.
We finally got our Monza to the drag strip. The first run was aborted
due to a big wheel stand and a tendency to go to the left guardrail. The next
run was a 9.24@ 146 mph. A great start for the first run. This L & M
engine is really putting out some serious power. The following week I made it
to 3rd round and the car was going 9.20s and 30s with much cooler
weather so the engine was a little lean. It also still had an affinity for the
left guardrail. I skipped this week and made some adjustments to the rear
suspension to make it go straight and richened it up a little. Look for
current pictures on our web site soon.
Dean Martinson of Martinson Performance reports that Travis Eldridge
driving the # 30 NASCAR Late Model Stock, won the Joliet 100 National Short
Track Championship at Rockford Speedway in Rockford, IL. He has been a
consistent front-runner but this was his first feature win.
Dan Porgorzala of Pogo’s machine in Lockport, NY. powered Jipper
Ortez Pro Stock # 0 to a track
Championship at Canandaigua Speedway in Canandaigua, NY.
Dan also helped Jason Boyle in the #44 Pro Stock capture Rookie of the
year honors at Ransomville Speedway and powered Kenny Washburn’s #07 and
Steve Buzzard’s #7 to wins in the Street Stock division at Ransomville.
We
helped put Greg Hibbetts modified Semi Pulling Truck, Pro-Hibbitted,
in the winner’s circle recently. He won the Final Grand National points
event in Sandwich, IL as well as the NTPA Super Semi World Final in Dennison,
IA.
2.9L
Ford new Products.
As the sole supplier of new performance cams for 2.9 & 3.0L Fords, we have had good sales of related parts such as engine rebuild kits. We now offer reconditioned connecting rods and a true high performance cylinder head for this popular engine. Check out our Ranger & Bronco page on our web site for details. The head has been under development for some time and is now ready for release. It incorporates new castings and significantly improved airflow. We have negotiated some special prices on engine kits for the 2.9L & 3.0L engines. Prices will be on our web site in a few days.
Wheeler
H-beam connecting rods
We still have a few sets of 5.7 & 6” H-beam rods available. Price is $365.00 per set or $350.00 each for 3 sets or more. Act fast as they won’t last long at these prices. We use them in our drag car.
AED
carburetors
650 & 750 HO Carbs are available for $389.00. Regular price is $429.00. This is a great opportunity to get a custom calibrated carburetor at a price only a few dollars above a stock Holley Carb with it’s inconsistent fuel metering. Don’t miss this opportunity.
New
cam Profiles
I will be spending some time the first part of October with my consultant designing some new profiles for next year. We will expand our .390 and .423 lift roller series as well as adding to our .323 flat tappet series. There may even be a few .904 profiles. We will also add some new tractor pulling profiles.
As always, we thank you for
your support.
Yours truly,
Charles, Harriett, Chuck, Clarence & Shannon
