Dear
Customers,
August is here and school is just around the corner. We’ve had a
pretty wet July so things are growing like mad, especially our lawn. We are
staying pretty busy now though many of our customers have slowed down a little
the last month or so.
We’ll
be getting our 383 Chevy motor back from L & M Engines of Hatboro, PA any
day now. Our final horsepower is about 615. It has a very flat power curve and
should power our Monza to low 9-second times easily. I’m really looking
forward to getting on the track in the next week or two. We will be racing at
Colonial Beach and US-13 at first. Then we hope to get over to Waynesboro, and
Natural Bridge, Virginia soon.
Despite
repeated requests to remove gears from cams before sending them to be ground
we continue to get a lot of cams in lately that have gears on them. This is a
real problem for us, as we haven’t had a large press to remove them for 3
years so we have to take them in town and hope someone will press them off
soon. Minimum charge for gear removal will be $30.00 no
exceptions. The only cam we can easily grind with the gear on is 342 Cats
(D8). We do not want to see any gears on anything but D8 Cats. We will not even have any sympathy for anyone who forgets to
remove the gears from their cams. Gear removal will almost always add at least
one day to your turn around time.
