Dear
Customers,
As March grows to a close we are reaching the end of our extensive
remodeling project and the refurbishing of our second cam grinder. I certainly
don’t want to undertake either of these projects again any time soon. We are
very busy as are most of our customers.
Remodeling
& Grinder repairs
We appreciate the patience many of you have shown
while we have been in such a state of confusion. Our service will get back to
normal in a few more weeks. We painted the grinder when we rebuilt it and I
was so impressed with the appearance that I’m painting almost everything. We’ll
think I hit the lottery and bought a lot of new equipment.
Our first grinder is working better now then when
it was brand new. I’m convinced that a properly reconditioned machine can be
better than new and much more economical. My hat’s off to Steve Bresnahan of
Northstar Machine and his crew for a job well done. We’re working on the
second grinder now and it should be finished by the 6th or 7th.
Our remodeling job has already contributed much to
our efficiency and quality. We set up a quality control room that contains the
cam doctor, surface plate, micrometers & other gauges as well as our
Nitrous refill station. Moving the cam doctor out of my office has contributed
much to my personal organization. The floor in the new showroom is just
completed and looks good All that is left to do is move in the display
fixtures and we’re all set.
New
Employee
We want to welcome a new employee onboard. He is
Danny Humpleby. Those of you who have been dealing with us for a long time may
remember his uncle, Ed (Taz) Humpleby, who was a long time key employee and
who still does most of our welding. Danny
is an experienced welder and Ed is teaching him how to weld cams. So far he
has been my right hand man completing our remodeling while He has already done
some straightening and centering and we will have him on a grinder full time
very soon. Clarence has increased his output to make up for my shortcomings
during this very trying period.
We will have an open house May 6th starting at 8:30 AM. We
will be having live demonstrations of cam grinding and use of the cam doctor,
There will be seminars on how to degree a cam, How to select the best cam for
your application and others we are working on. There will be a variety of cars
on hand including race cars, Antique cars, street rods, and more. There will
be free FOOD . There will be
some test rides in Nitrous equipped cars as well. We will have some very
special pricing on many things the day of our open house. There will be
something special for the person traveling the furthest
Winners;
The racing season has scarcely begun and we have several winners already.
Steve Drummond had his feared Mustang out last
weekend for the first time this year at the Pepsi First State Open held at US
13 Dragway, Delmar, DE. He took home the green in the Super Gas class.
Hollywood Machine powered John Ebersole’s #98
Grand Stock car to a decisive win at Southside Speedway. He had fastest
qualifying time and started 5th. He took the lead on the 3rd
lap and never looked back. Not far behind in third place was Ray Ashworth in
the #10 car, also powered by a Hollywood engine.
Again we want to apologize for our lack of speedy service for the last
couple of months. It will end soon and we will get back to normal. We thank
you for your continued support and patience.
Yours truly,
Charles, Harriett, Clarence, Chuck and Danny
