Dear Customers,

We all seem to have had a busy and prosperous January with the weather being a little warmer than usual. If this is a sign of things to come then 1999 should be a good year. However I believe 1997 started out like gangbusters and fizzled out by May or June.

We recently had some Buick cams made for Kanter Products for the 1953-56 V-8 engines. We got a few semi finished cams so we can offer custom ground performance cams for these engines. We also have cams for the 1957-64 Buicks as well as 371and 394 Oldsmobiles

We had a good time in Hickory with the Pit List Racer’s Trade show at the Metro Trade Center on the weekend of the 16th. We made some good contacts at the show as well as some during the time spent prospecting the area 2 days before the show. If you missed it this year be sure to go next year. The dates should be the 15th and 16th of January.

Below is a listing of our newest profile additions to our flat tappet profiles.

.842 XTL .874 XTLF

.050 dur. /cam lift .050 dur. /cam lift

246/ .307 hyd. (HMT) 238/ .323 mech.

234/ .323 mech. 242/ .323 mech.

256/ .337 mech. 260/ .365 mech.

262/ .337 mech.

We have new profile sheets listing our Torque Monster Roller profiles as well as XTL, XTLF, and HMT profiles, including the new additions. Ask and you shall receive one.

We will soon be offering Isky Valve Springs to cover certain applications no covered well by our present line. The numbers offered initially will be the ever popular 8005A (1.530 OD, 135 lb @1.875, 400 lb rate, up to.650 lift, 1.160 coil bind for flat tappet), and the 8205 (1.530 OD, 140 @ 1.900, 440 lb rate, up to .650 lift, for flat tappet higher rpm, 1.770 coil bind). These will be in stock but the whole line will be available.

We are now carrying H & H Specialties products. They are best known for their "Hard Block" block filler. We stock both the short and tall fill packages. Our prices are competitive with mail order places. They also make a Cooler Oil treatment that reduces oil temperature in engines as well as transmissions and rear axles. There is also Automatic Transmission Cooler oil that reduces wear and lowers oil temperatures. We stock these as well.

This is the time of year when drag racers are busy preparing for the new season which opens in this area on February 28th with a practice day at US-13 Dragway in Delmar, De. Don’t forget to remind your customers to check the expiration date on their safety harness. Most sanctioning bodies require replacement every 2 years. We stock M & R products and they are top quality. They offer many colors and they will reweb their harness assemblies for about

$40.00. This makes it affordable to upgrade to a rotary camlock harness since rewebbing every 2 years will be less than the cost of a new lever latch assembly. Once you have used a rotary camlock belt the you will never want another lever latch assembly. We also stock vehicle tie downs and hardware as well. Drop shipments are available.

For those of you building engines or freshening them up, don’t forget our custom coating service. We can coat headers, pistons, bearings, camshafts,

lifters, valve springs, manifolds and other parts. We have thermal barrier coatings, lubricating, and oil shedding coating as well as heat emitter coating. Our piston and header coatings are very popular.

Don’t forget our special block purchase for small block Chevys. These blocks have been cleaned, sonic tested, 4 bolt splayed main caps installed. Line honed, decks squared, and bored and honed to 4.030 with torque plates installed.

They have even had pipe plugs installed and drilled in the large water holes in the deck surface for greater strength. We only have 6 left and when these are gone there are no more. What a steal at $525.00.

Don’t forget our other WD lines; Reed Cams, Comp Cams, Crane Cams, SIG Erson Cams, Isky Cams, Mallory Ignition, ATI dampers, Computech Weather stations, Detroit Gasket, H & H Specialties (Hard Block), JE pistons inc. SRP, Keith Black pistons, Eagle rods, Grant racing rings, Mr. Gasket, M & R Products, Offenhauser, Scorpion roller rockers, Detroit gasket, Hurst, Lakewood bellhousings & suspension, Hayes flywheels & clutches, Pioneer performance products, Transmission Specialties, Techline coatings, as well as most other lines at competitive prices. If we can’t get it then you probably don’t need it.

In our own racing program, We have just purchased a 370 cubic inch Small Block Chevy engine from R & W Enterprises. It is the motor out of their URC Sprint Car. It will be converted to single 4 bbl carburation and wet sump oil system. We are also changing the cam. We hope to dyno test it in the next 2 weeks and start the season with it. It has much better heads than our current engine and lots more compression. We are also continuing with our original plans to build a 383" engine. It will not be done in time to start the season.

We need pictures for our web site. Send us pictures of your cars using our cams (preferably with our decals visible) and we will put them on our web site. We need good color pictures, preferably in 5 x 7 size or larger. Be sure to include some background information about the car and driver.

As we move into the 1999 racing season we look forward to helping you go faster and win more races. We thank you all for your continued support.

Yours Truly,

Charles, Harriett, Clarence, Debra, and Chuck
