Dear Customers,

The new year is upon us and everyone seem optimistic about the future. I trust everyone had a nice holiday and is enthusiastically returning to work anticipating great things to come. 1999 should be a great year.

We have added a few new profiles to our offering and there will be more to follow. The new profiles are listed below. There will be some new roller profiles in the near future. We are considering doing some .904 profiles.

.050 dur. /cam lift .050 dur./cam lift

246/ .307 hyd.(HMT) 238/ .323 mech.

234/ .323 mech. 242/ .323 mech.

256/ .337 mech. 260/ .365 mech.

262/ .337 mech.

We have new profile sheets listing our Torque Monster Roller profiles as well as XTL, XTLF, and HMT profiles, including the new additions. Ask and you shall receive one.

Despite constant reminders, we still get cams with no notes from people who expect me to remember conversations from weeks ago about what to do to it. I just can’t remember every conversation without a little reminder. I seldom use the word always and never but I can safely say I always tell customers to include a note with cams they are sending in. If you can’t remember to send a note we may not be able to remember to call and ask what you want done. Also we occasionally get packages with no name or address on them. These are usually sent through a mailing service such as Mail Boxs etc. Mailing services put their address on the box and cross out yours. Be sure to put your name, address, phone number and note inside the box when using a mailing service.

New, used, & Special Stuff

We are selling the 355 Chevy engine out of our Monza drag car. It has been a best of 9.78 @ 137 mph in a 2400 lb. car. It has Crower Sportsman rods and Ross lightweight reverse dome pistons.(pistons are 9.4 : 1 with 64cc heads) Crank is cast and the block is a 2 bolt. Heads are unported, angle milled Bowtie (early 2nd design)with about 50 cc chambers. We are keeping the Bowtie intake but will include a Victor Jr. Bowtie intake with it. Oil pan is a 5qt Vette. Also included are rings, bearings and gaskets to freshen it up. The car ran a 9.89 @136 the week before we quit racing for the season. We are asking $3500 and will consider trades or just selling the short block alone. (we have a buyer for the heads) It’s in good shape but it’s time for a freshen up.

We have a few Chevy blocks with splayed 4 bolt caps for sale. These have splayed 4 bolt caps installed and Line honed, bored & honed 030 oversize, Decks squared and are ready to assemble. Price is $525.00 outright with no core required. Supply is limited to 8 and several are spoken for. When these are gone that’s all there is. Freight should be under $75.00 or so. (one we shipped was $54.00 and went over 300 miles)

continued

We now have Canfield aluminum heads fully assembled with stainless steel valves ready to bolt on. Prices range from $1275.00 to $1500.00 depending on the exact configuration. We have 194 and 220 cc runner small block Chevys with 64 cc combustion chambers as well as 58 cc chamber Small Block Ford heads. The 220 runner SBC heads require offset intake rockers to accommodate the wider intake ports. We have them in stock in 1.5 & 1.6 ratio.

Don’t forget drag racers are getting their new safety harness assemblies in preparation for the coming season. We handle M & R Products harnesses as well as their tie down equipment. They offer a great variety of colors, service is quick on special orders and they will drop ship. Their quality is top notch. Remember they can be rewebbed for about $45.00. This makes it economical to go with the more expensive cam lock assemblies. If you’ve ever used one you’ll never go back to the lever latch system. We will soon have a M & R ad on our web site.

We have several sets of street roller rockers for small block Chevys available. They are 3/8 stud and are available in 1.5 and 1.6 ratio. Price is $155.00. They are full roller aluminum rockers and are for spring pressures below about 300 lbs. Quantities are limited. Act fast!

Don’t forget our other WD lines; Reed, Comp, Crane, Sig Erson, Isky, Mallory, ATI dampers, JE pistons inc. SRP, Keith Black pistons, Eagle rods, Grant racing rings, Mr. Gasket, Offenhauser, Scorpion roller rockers, Detroit gasket, Hurst, Lakewood bellhousings & suspension, Hayes flywheels & clutches, Pioneer performance products, transmission specialties, as well as most other lines at competitive prices. If we can’t get it then you probably don’t need it.

Trade Shows

We will be exhibiting at the Pit List Trade show in Hickory, NC on Jan 16th and 17th . It’s a fun show with something for both oval track and drag racers alike. There are both new and used parts available. We will have our Cam Doctor on hand to check those special secret cams with the number ground off, at no charge. Bring in those mystery cams and find out what they really are. I hope to see many of you there.

We hope to be testing at Colonial Beach by the 2nd week in February. We plan to run several IHRA national events this year including Darlington, Rockingham, M.I.R., and Norwalk. We may hit a couple of NHRA events as well.

We want to thank all of our loyal customers for making 1998 a successful year for us. We appreciate your support.

Yours truly,

Charles, Harriett, Clarence, Debra, & Chuck
