Dear Customers,

Betty’s wedding at the Bull Creek Ranch in Ashville went very well. We had about 130 guests and lots of family from all over the country. Stan’s brother came from Hawaii and our family came from Utah, Memphis, Maryland, & Atlanta. Betty & Stan’s friends came from Florida, Texas, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia and other places. It was a great time for everyone. Stan & Betty did the planning and it all went off without a hitch.

The only down side was that Harriett had been given a hot air balloon ride for her birthday by Betty, Stan, and Victoria that we were going to take on Sunday morning after the wedding. My aunt from Atlanta and cousin from Utah and some friends from Atlanta were to go with us. Unfortunately weather did not cooperate and we will have to do it another time.

Notes with cams & Lifters sent in for grinding

Despite constant reminders to include notes with cams & lifters sent in for grinding, we still get a surprising number of boxes coming through the door that have no instructions included. They go to never-never land for a couple of days before we call. Don’t get upset if your stuff gets delayed because you forgot to include instructions. While a box of lifters seems simple enough, we cannot identify all lifters by sight alone. It is necessary to know what they are so we can grind the proper radius on them. Talking to me in advance doesn’t count. I almost always make a point to say, “Be sure to include a note” to everyone I talk to. It is practically automatic! By the time your cam or lifters get here I will have talked to a huge number of people. I can recall it but not without a note to jog the old memory. PLEASE SEND A NOTE!!

      New cam profiles

I will be doing some new lobe designs very soon. First will be some big roller profiles with 300+ degrees duration @.050 and .460 + lift. These will be followed by some 265-276 degree profiles with .445-.465 lift. They will be 32-degree major intensity. There will also be some new hydraulic flat tappet profiles with restricted lift as well as some 26-degree major intensity solid lifter profiles with various lifts intended for high ratio rockers.

     Winners

Performance Engines of Torrington, CT has 3 Track Champions so far for 2005. Lloyd Agar # 22 SK Modified won at Stafford Speedway, Jeff Malave # 6 SK Modified won at Thompson and Ryan Posocco # 3 Late Model won at Stafford.

Wally Fiehl Racing Engines powered Brian Weaver #9R Modified to a track championship at 5 Mile Point Speedway in Endwell, NY. Brian also drove the #9R Modified to a win in the 100 lap “King Of The Can” at Pen Can Speedway in Susquehanna, PA on the 17th.  He won the Modified track championship at Pen Can as well.

Pettit Racing Engines powered Todd Ceravolo to a win in his #20 SK Modified at Thompson Speedway. Pettit also powered Tommy Craveno #31 to a SK win at Thompson.

Antique performance cam catalog

We now have a catalog devoted to antique engines. Call or Email for your copy. It will be on our web site shortly.  All cams listed are ground on new castings and include flathead Fords, all nailhead Buicks, Poly 318 Chryslers, 56-64 Olds 324, Y Block Fords, 270 & 302 GMC, and more. Many of these castings are only available through Camcraft.

The catalog is not printed so we prefer to send via e-mail. They are in Microsoft Excel format. If you use another spreadsheet format we might be able to convert it. We may have a limited supply of printed catalogs soon.

The engines listed are those for which we have new castings. We do regrind other cams, for which there are no new castings, to a more performance oriented profile. Rely on Camcraft to add that extra zip to your antique restoration or hot rod.

As the 2005 racing season is drawing to a close, and we want to thank you all for your support.

Yours Truly,

Charles, Harriett, Clarence, Chuck, & Stephanie
