Dear Customers,
It looks like summer is almost over. The weather is even a little cooler after several really hot weeks. Schools are open and our daughter Victoria has been back at Elon University for over a month. She really likes it there and hopes to get a head start on finding a job. Parents weekend is the end of this month and we will be attending.
We are hearing mixed reports from our customers about business conditions. Almost all race engine builders are very busy and have had a good year. Other shops report business is spotty. Up one week and down the next. Many report a small increase, if any, over last year. Our business showed a very healthy increase at midyear, which has slowed a little in the summer months. We attribute this to increased Internet sales and increased success with our racing segment of our business.
We recently attended a Modified Semi truck pull in Buck, PA. Of 18 trucks present, 6 used Camcraft Cams and 4 placed in the top 5.
Favorable reports on our new SXTL profiles continue to pour in. Engine builders are reporting 5-7 lb-ft torque increases across the power band over our XTL series that set a new benchmark when they were first introduced some 8 years ago. The XTL profiles are still superior to most profiles the competition is offering as brand new designs today.
Why fool with the rest? Go with the best. If we don’t make what you
need we deal with someone who does.
Our new HCR profiles have been well received by engine builders looking for a computer compatible cam where they can run a little bit more .050 duration than in the past. These profiles really fit the bill. With 50 degrees hydraulic intensity, the seat-to-seat timing is greatly reduced, as is the overlap. Don’t miss a chance to try out these newest hydraulic profiles in your mild street engines. The extremely short seat timing and less overlap, promotes higher cylinder pressure, better throttle response, more torque and better fuel economy.
