July / August, 2005 Dear Customers, I want to thank everyone for their concern and prayers for my mother’s health. She is doing much better and we hope she will be able to attend Betty’s wedding next month. We are busy anticipating Betty’s wedding in Ashville, NC Sept 24th. There is much to do and everyone is excited. It should be a great celebration and reunion for many friends who haven’t seen each other for many years. Victoria will be her Maid of Honor. Victoria will be heading back to Baltimore and the University of Maryland in a couple of weeks. She should complete her Master’s degree in Social Service next spring. She has been a big help at the shop over the summer, especially while we were in Florida with my mother. Business has slowed down a little which is fairly normal for this time of year. We will get another surge next month as most track’s points season ends and people try new things at the end of the season to get a head start on new combinations for next year. Racing business will taper off sharply in October and November and begin picking up again in December after the PRI show. Many people are reporting a little slower year overall and feel it is a reflection of the economy. Fuel costs have dramatically affected the cost of racing in that now it costs so much more to just get to the track not to mention the rising cost of admission.
