Dear Customers,

Harriett and I are proud to announce the engagement of our daughter Betty Jean to Stan Baker of Ashville, NC. They have been a couple for about 8 years now and have finally decided it is time to get married. We are very pleased. The wedding will take place September 24th in Ashville.

Sunday May 1st was supposed to be Camcraft day at US-13 Dragway in Delmar, DE. Unfortunately we got rained out. The show would have included a Bad 8 race, MANDRA vintage drag race circuit as well as a street car shootout. An abundance of good food is always in place. Our day has been scheduled for Sunday May 22nd.

Any Camcraft customer wishing to have a picture of their car on our web site is welcome to send a picture and a brief description to me via e-mail. Pictures in JIFF or JPEG format are preferred. We will also mention any wins in our newsletter. Information is preferred via e-mail at any time of month. This prevents any last minute rushing. If you regularly send this information out, you can just add me to your list.

Warm weather is finally here most of the time. Racetracks are open and Camcraft customers are winning races once again.

Leading the charge is Pettit racing engines in New Milford, CT. Earlier This year Pettit powered Chris Jones to 4 wins in his SK Modified at new Smyrna Beach Speedway in Florida during Speed Week. Since the season opened in CT. Pettit engines have powered Ted Christopher #13 to a win in the SK Modified class at Stafford Speedway, And Jim Mavlouganes to a win in the Late Model class at Stafford. In addition, Charles Bailey picked up a Late Model win at Thompson Speedway. Not to be out done, Performance Engines in Torrington, CT powered the top 3 cars in SK Modifieds at Stafford last weekend. Lloyd Agor # 22 was closely followed by Frank Roco # 91 and Willie Hardis # 7. Ryan Posoco, relying on Performance Engine’s power, won the Late Model class in his #7 car

In Virginia, Keen’s Automotive powered 3 of the top 5 cars in the Late Model class on April 16th  at Langley Speedway. On the 23rd they powered Danny Edwards Chrysler to a Late Model win at Langley after leading all 75 laps. Shawn Balluzo, another Keen customer, finished 3rd. On the 30th Chris Roberts in the # 11Grand Stock took top honors in his class.

In the APBA 5 liter Hydroplane class, Jim Martin in the Keen Machine won in Morgantown, La. Toddy Liddycoat of Canada relied on his Keen engine to win the 5 Liter Class at the Portsmouth, VA race with Jim Martin finishing 2nd.

I spent time with my consultant designing some new restricted lift profiles. So far we have masters for 2 .904 profiles and 1 .842. These have dwell at maximum lift.

The .904 profiles are 240 and 244 duration @.050 with .300 lift. They have 27 degrees of major intensity.

The .842 profile is 242 duration @.050 with 26 degree major intensity and .300 lift. We have a few more designs but have not yet ordered masters. I plan to do several .842 designs in  .260, .274, and .280 lobe lift as well. There may be .875 designs in .256 and .300 lift as well. They will be 26 degree major intensity.
