Dear customers,

          Christmas has come and gone. I hope you all had a pleasant holiday. We had a nice holiday in Ashville, NC with Betty and Stan and Victoria. On New Years day Victoria left for Europe on a tour of WW II battlefields as part of her school studies. She has been looking forward to it for some time. Her flight to London Jan 1st on British Airways was the one canceled for security reasons. Fortunately she got on an earlier flight and arrived in London without difficulty. In fact the press interviewed some of her fellow Elon students that did not make the earlier flight.

Surgery;

          I am still recovering nicely from my heart valve replacement. I greatly appreciate all the cards and phone calls wishing me a speedy recovery. I already see a big difference in my energy level. I am starting cardiac rehab and I am sure it will help me regain my strength.  I have been working 3 to 4 hours a day since Thanksgiving and my energy level is already more than what it was before the operation. For January I should be in the office from 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM most days. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday I have physical therapy at 8:30 AM for my bursitis that appeared a few weeks before Christmas and then my cardiac rehab at 1:30 PM. I should be in from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday and Thursdays. I can be reached at home after about 2:30. Ask the shop for the number if you need it. I will be working at home in the afternoons for a few weeks. I hope to be back full time by the end of the month

          The latest news on the NASCAR Late Model Stock fiasco is that there will be Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge crate motors allowed. All the details have not been worked out, Keen’s Automotive in Smithfield, VA is the official crate motor supplier to South Hampton Speedway and the official repair & freshen up station for Old Dominion Speedway.

          South Boston Speedway will not be using crate motors for the 2004 season.

Fortunately December has been a busier month than November and we are pretty busy. I have been working on a few new lobe designs. They are listed below. There will be more to follow.
