Dear Customers,

We are 3 months into 2007 and we have had a busy but not great 1st quarter. While most of it is hardcore racing business, we are also doing a brisk business with our Antique and Factory Performance Cams.

Most tracks have had their first practice session and everyone seems happy with their performance level. Racing starts next week so we’ll see what happens then.

We have all been affected by the growing popularity of the crate motors. Much of this has been happening out of desperation on the part of tracks to make racing more affordable so car counts will increase as well as increasing revenue to the tracks. This has had a detrimental effect on every supplier of aftermarket engine parts in the industry. This is compounded by the track’s lack of tech inspection due to seals and special bolts that make tampering impossible. Impossible? NO! Expensive? YES! By the time you cheat up a crate motor you could have bought a custom built engine that would last longer and be more reliable. Are we doing our part to help the tracks survive? Do we encourage our friends and neighbors to attend races and cheer us on to victory? We all have to work together to ensure the success of our sport. Cutting the aftermarket out our sport will mean less sponsorship money and advertising dollars. When tracks approach us about sponsoring a race or advertising in their programs, the first question I ask is do you have any crate motor classes? If the answer is yes then my answer is NO!

In an effort to keep our share of the market, we have new cheater profiles for the ZZ4 as well as the 350 hp crate motor #88958602. They have the same lift as the cams they replace and about 10 degrees more duration with tighter lobe separation. They are in stock and ready to ship. They will give you up to 30 hp and 30 lb/ft of torque. We can steer you to the necessary bolts to keep you looking legal as well.

We have not had as much feedback on our XTLE profiles as I had hoped but what we have gotten is positive. The cams tested made more torque and moved the power band up about 200 rpm. It revved to 7,000rpm easily.

Winners

We have our first reported win for the 2007 season. Dennis Queen in the Ted Mann Logging #99 UARA car won the Bad Boy 150 at Hickory Speedway. His engine builder is Joe Metcalf of Canton, NC

POR-15 products available from Camcraft.

Those of you involved in the restoration of older cars are undoubtedly aware of POR-15 products. They make an amazing rust preventative paint that goes on right over rust and provides an extremely hard coating that actually cures harder in the presence of moisture. It is amazing. There are also related restoration products to complement it like gas tank sealer, top coat paints, engine paints, trunk and floor pan repair kits, body filler and much more. Call Camcraft today to order your Por-15 products today. Free catalogs with every order over $20.00.

I ton diesel dually for sale. Low mileage!

We still have our 1996 Chevy 1-ton Dually for sale. It has the Silverado package with AC, PS, PW, PL, ABS, HD tow package, 6.5 Turbo Diesel, 5 speed trans, full length running boards w/flairs, visor, hard bed cover, & Turbo wing. It is a very well maintained sharp looking truck with only 83,00 miles. Pictures e-mailed on request.

Asking $10,500.00

I am looking for a ½ or ¾ ton GMC or Chevy PU with 4WD & extended cab. Prefer 5.7 gas engine, automatic, Silverado package or equivalent, with under 125,000 miles. May consider 454. No jacked up stuff.

Remember the thing that sets us apart from the competition is the commitment to help you go faster. We don’t want to have to get new customers for each cam we produce. We depend on repeat business and referrals. We can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear but we can help upgrade your racing program no matter what level you are.

If you’re not running a Camcraft cam you’re probably following one!

We appreciate your continued support!!
